An all-star cast is in rehearsal for Fort Defiance Players’ 2007 dinner theater to be presented on August 2 – 5. This year, the songs of Tony Award winning shows will be featured. From the 1949 winning, “Kiss Me Kate,” to 2005’s “Spamalot,” the show presents the most well known tunes of each season’s award winning show.
The songs range from the most familiar such as “The Impossible Dream,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” and “I Could Have Danced All Night,” to the less known, “Hand For the Hog,” “Shy Did I Ever Leave Ohio,” and “Good Morning Baltimore.” The cast is a familiar group to FDP fans, including: Randy Schroeder, Allen Blake, Mark and Missy Schnitkey, Marion Hanson, Jan Craig, Tom and Jenni Ellis, Ned Clark, Janice Johanson, Kirsten Kaufman, and the show’s director, Bob Barnett.
Staged in Defiance College’s Serrick Campus Center, the evening features a full dinner with a choice of beef or chicken. The dinner includes potatoes, green bean Almondine, salad, rolls, beverages and a delicious light dessert.
Admission is by prepaid, advance reservation only and costs $25 a person. Seating will be at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the show to follow at approximately 8 p.m. Seating on Sunday is at 12:30 p.m. with the show at approximately 2 p.m. To make reservations, call 419 782-PLAY.
