Spring Town and Gown Series

The March 20 Town & Gown lecture has been moved to Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 in the Serrick Banquet Room.

The spring Town and Gown Series has been announced by Defiance city historian Randy Buchman. The three-part series titled "The Lure of the White House" features presidential election winners and losers as well as women of the White House. It opens Feb. 28 with presentations on winner James Polk by Richard Rozevink, loser Henry Clay by Randy Buchman and First Lady Lucy Hayes by Randy Buchman. March 20 will feature winner Franklin Pierce by Randy Buchman, loser James G. Blaine by Dr. Don Buerk, and First Lady Harriet Lane by Richard Rozevink. The series concludes on April 24 with winner Woodrow Wilson by Dr. Don Buerk, loser Samuel Tilden by Richard Rozevink, and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt by Dr. Michelle Tabit. All programs begin at 7:30 p.m. in Schomburg Auditorium.
