The Defiance College Women's Commission Gallery will feature the paintings of Rex Stennett from February 24 through March 27.
Ohio native Stennett has been painting for most of his life, listing de Kooning, Matisse, and Rembrandt as artistic influences. While his resume includes portraiture, murals, and easel paintings for patrons across the country and beyond, his current works feature primarily black and white, exploring form pared down to its essentials.
Stennett studied art at Bowling Green State University, and is currently attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in the School of Illustration.
The Women's Commission Gallery is located in Dana Hall on the campus of Defiance College. The gallery is open weekdays 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., or by appointment. Contact Gallery Coordinator Jan Bechtel at (419) 783-2444 for more information.
