DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College’s Design for Leadership program will host a training session for people who work with youth in the local churches on Sunday, April 5 from 5:30 – 9 p.m. Safe Sanctuaries, facilitated by Rev. Sprite Johnson, helps churches find ways to recognize and reduce the risk of abuse in communities of faith. The program will be held in Schauffler Hall, Dix Room on the campus of Defiance College.
Johnson is co-pastor of the Federated Church of Maine, New York and a Defiance College alumna. She has served as a Partner in Education for ten years, working with the New York Conference staff as a consultant in interim ministry for churches in pastoral transition, helps train local church people in Safe Sanctuary practices, and is trained in conflict resolution.
The event is free and open to the public.
