DEFIANCE, Ohio – Dr. Michelle Tabit, Assistant Professor of History at Defiance College, will kick-off the fall season of the Town and Gown Lincoln Series with a presentation on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The lecture will be held in Schomburg Auditorium on the campus of Defiance College and is free and open to the public.
Tabit will speak about the life of Mary Todd Lincoln in “The Role of a Spouse.” An accompanying exhibit to be displayed in the Women’s Commission Gallery will focus on Mary Todd Lincoln.
The yearlong series is sponsored by Defiance College and the City of Defiance. Additional financial assistance for the lecture and exhibit series is being provided by the Ohio Humanities Council. The next Lincoln Series event is scheduled for Oct. 11 and will feature a presentation by Mark E. Neely, Jr. discussing his book, The Last Best Hope of Earth.
