DEFIANCE, Ohio – It will be a red, white and blue theme as the Defiance College Community Band presents this season’s opening concert titled “A Star Spangled Salute to Our American Heroes.” The event will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, in the Defiance Community Auditorium, downtown Defiance, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Under the baton of conductor/music director Vincent Polce, the DCCB will perform a variety of selections that will highlight the music of our Armed Forces. The music will include “America,” Sousa marches and a performance by featured trumpet soloist Master Gunnery Sgt. Andy Schuller of the “President’s Own” United States Marine Band.
“During this special Veterans Day concert, our program will pay tribute to all military personnel and their families,” said Polce. “We are most pleased to have with us from Washington D.C. the Brass Commander of the ‘President’s Own,’ and it certainly should prove to be a memorable evening of music and patriotism.”
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
