DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College and Chief/Rays Supermarkets in Northwest Ohio are pleased to partner in a Make-A-Difference day food drive for local food pantries on Saturday, October 23, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Defiance College students, alumni, and staff, along with the community service group, C.I.A (Citizens in Action) will be present at all 12 Chief/Rays store locations in Northwest Ohio to collect food items and donations to help support local efforts to feed those in need in our communities. With more children than ever at risk of going to bed hungry, an increasing number of people without jobs for extended periods of time and homelessness on the rise, food pantries are stretched to meet all the requests for assistance.
Chief/Rays Supermarket customers will be able to give four ways; individual food items can be put into the collection carts; monetary donations may be given using the “Make-A-Difference” jar located near the collection carts; pre-bagged items may be purchased at check-out and then put in the cart by shoppers; or monetary donations may be accepted at the register upon checkout.
100% of all money raised goes to local food pantry efforts thanks to the generous support and underwriting of the day by Chief, Defiance College and the many volunteers who are donating their time.
Towns where Chief/Rays Supermarkets are located: Chief stores are located in Celina, Coldwater, Defiance, Bryan, Wauseon, Paulding, Delphos and Napoleon with Rays Supermarkets located in Lima.
