Defiance College’s Schomburg Series and the Defiance Community Cultural Council (DCCC) welcome the Hamann Sisters on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Arts and Media Center, Third and Wayne Street.
Duo pianists Amy and Sara Hamann have been praised as having "the eloquence and ability to maintain their audience under their powers." Natives of Minnesota, the two have been recognized internationally and have performed at many important venues such as the Chautauqua Institution, the Oslo International Music Festival, and the Quebec International Duo-Piano Festival. They have performed on national and international radio, including NPR's "Performance Today" and "Studio 360." Among the many honors they have received is the Absolute First Prize in the Frederyk Chopin Concorso Pianistico Internazionale in Rome.
Advanced tickets are $8 and can be purchased at Kissner's, the Defiance Public Library, and the Defiance Development and Visitors Bureau (DDVB). Tickets are $10 at the door.
