DEFIANCE, Ohio – Mark Hampton, president and CEO of FTL Leadership Group, will be the guest speaker at Defiance College’s Martin Luther King Jr. celebration on Thursday, Jan. 21. His presentation is titled “The History of Leadership and Its Responsibility for Today.” Hampton will look at the reality of leadership, the reason for leadership, the responsibility of leadership, the result of leadership, and how Dr. Martin Luther King exemplifies theses points.
The event is sponsored by the college’s Office of Intercultural Relations.
Hampton studied marketing, public relations, and organizational leadership at Franklin University in Columbus, and he has held numerous training, sales and management positions. He is the former supervisor of organizational development for the American Red Cross; former founder and president of 2-Impact, a consulting firm located in Columbus; and a master presenter and facilitator with more than 25 years public speaking experience. Additionally, Hampton is a newspaper columnist and author of two other books These Four Walls and Living in the Tension.
The Defiance event will begin with a dinner at 6 p.m. in the Hubbard Banquet Room of Serrick Campus Center. Hampton’s presentation is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Schomburg Auditorium.
The presentation is free and open to the public. Persons interested in attending the dinner, at a cost of $5 for community members, can make reservations by calling the Office of Intercultural Relations at 419-783-2362 or by emailing mclay@defiance.edu by Jan. 20.
