DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College has announced a new program aimed at recognizing students who show great potential in their fields. The Defiance College Rising Stars program will recognize students who are nominated by Defiance College faculty for their classroom achievements, their contributions to the College’s culture of engagement, and/or their significant potential within their major field.
“Academics is at the heart of the College experience, and we at Defiance College are committed to nurturing the academic potential of all our students,” said President Mark C. Gordon. “The Rising Stars program will give the College and the entire community an opportunity to recognize and honor students who show particularly noteworthy academic potential and who can be true role models for others. While many of our students have already been fortunate enough to receive national recognition for their accomplishments, this program provides another way for us to highlight the tremendous skills and dedication of members of the Defiance College student body and to celebrate what their academic potential and promise offer for the community and society more broadly.”
Rising Stars recipients will be announced in their academic majors throughout the year, with notice going to their local communities and high schools as well as to the entire Defiance College community and region.
