DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College welcomes back to campus Neil Jacobs and Lone Raven for the next Schomburg Series performance. The popular group will perform in Schomburg Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m.
Garnering rave reviews throughout Ohio and the surrounding states, Lone Raven performs an eclectic blend of traditional music from various areas of the world, as well as their own original compositions. With more than 20 instruments on stage, the band soars through everything from fiery Irish reels to gypsy fiddle tunes.
Their instrumentals are fueled by the twin fiddles of Elizabeth Blickenstaff and Kara Markley, while being driven by an explosive rhythm section consisting of Craig Markley and Sid Omasta, and featuring the award-winning guitar playing of Neil Jacobs. In addition, Kara’s highly acclaimed vocal stylings are showcased throughout each concert, performing songs in both English and Irish Gaelic, among others. It is no wonder that Lone Raven is considered one of the region’s most “in-demand” acts.
Individual performance tickets are $10 and will available at the door.
