DEFIANCE, Ohio – Randy Buchman, Defiance city historian and Defiance College emeritus professor, will be the presenter at the next Town and Gown Series event scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. The lecture will be held at the Arts and Media Center on the corner of Third and Wayne, Defiance.
The event is free and open to the public.
Buchman will present “Tecumseh: Man or Myth,” which will look at the role Tecumseh played in the causes and War of 1812.
Two additional War of 1812 Series events are scheduled for the spring. On March 21, Buchman teams up with Richard Rozevink for a visual presentation called “The War of 1812 Through the Eyes and Words of Benson Lossing.” Dr. Gerald Bazer presents “Andrew Jackson’s Role in the War of 1812” on April 14.
