DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College’s Schomburg Series welcomes NewFound Road to Schomburg Auditorium on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m.
One of the most exciting new bands to emerge on the national bluegrass scene in the new millennium, NFR specializes in a powerfully streamlined sound delivered with heartfelt honesty and passion. The band’s three equally capable, yet distinct vocalists, who are also formidable instrumentalists and songwriters, ensure that each song is executed with both emotion and precision - be it a bluesy solo vocal, soaring three part harmony or a solemn a cappella gospel treatment. Instrumentally, NFR is a role model for the modern self-contained bluegrass ensemble, providing both sympathetic accompaniment and thrilling, hard-driving solos.
Band members include Joe Booher performing the mandolin and vocals; Jamey Booher on bass and vocals; Tim Shelton playing guitar and vocals; and Josh Miller performing the banjo, guitar and vocals.
Individual performance tickets are $10 and will available at the door.
