DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College’s DC Players will present Neil Simon’s “Barefoot in the Park,” February 16-18 at 8 p.m. in Schomburg Auditorium.
This romantic comedy focuses on newlyweds, Corie and Paul, as they begin married life in a tiny, fifth floor walk-up apartment in a mid-Manhattan brownstone. Paul is a straight-laced attorney, and Corie a far more spontaneous free spirit. The young couple must contend with a lack of heat, a skylight that leaks snow, several long flights of stairs, oddball neighbor Victor Velasco, and Corie's well-meaning mother.
“Barefoot in the Park” stars DC students Amanda Spangler, Napoleon, as Corie; Dustin Manson, Paulding, as Paul; Jerika Hennes, Jamestown, as Mrs. Banks; Philip Balla, Rossford, as Victor Velasco; Jared James, North Baltimore, as Telephone Man; and Joemese Scott, Oviedo, FL, as Delivery Man.
Tickets will be available at the door. Adult admission is $6, and students under age 18 are $4. DC faculty, staff and students are admitted free with ID. For more information, please contact Carolyn Gilgenbach at 419-783-2462 or by e-mail cgilgenbach@defiance.edu
