Her career has included hospital, medical office, home health, and hospice nursing care. She is an Advanced Practice Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife, holding a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She has worked to provide prenatal education and care for monolingual women and their families. Hinojosa received recognition by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and was an affiliate staff member at Lima Memorial Hospital and Defiance Hospital. She has served as chairman of the Hispanic Latino Health Coalition and co-chairman of the Northwest Ohio American College of Nurse-Midwives Chapter.
