Kevin Tong
Head Athletic Trainer

| Kevin Tong is in his eleventh year as Head Athletic Trainer at Defiance College. Tong has primary responsibilities for football, men’s basketball, and tennis.
Prior to coming to DC, he was on the athletic training staff of the Tampa Bay Mutiny of Major League Soccer.
A native of Athens, Ohio, Tong graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in athletic training while serving as a student-assistant for various sports including football and baseball.
After completing his degree, he was employed by Wagner College (N.Y.) as an assistant trainer from 1995-1997 while earning his master’s degree in education.
Tong is also an assistant professor in DC’s Athletic Training Education program. He and his wife, Kelly, reside in Defiance with their two sons, Cameron and Owen and daughter, Paige.

Kathleen Westfall

| Kathleen Westfall is in her sixth year as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Defiance College, working primarily with volleyball, women’s basketball, and outdoor track & field.
Westfall joined the Defiance training staff in August of 2002 after serving as a graduate assistant trainer at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pa.
In 2002, she completed her master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Pittsburgh. Westfall earned her B.A. in Athletic Training & Exercise Physiology from Ohio University in 2000.
A Redford, Mich. native, Westfall currently resides in Perrysburg with her husband, Ty. She also serves as an instructor in the Athletic Training Education program at the college.

Myra Stockdale

| Dr. Myra Stockdale assumes the responsibilities of Program Director for Athletic Training Education at Defiance College after serving as the Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor of Health and Fitness at Hanover College for sixteen years. Prior to that, she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., where she taught in the NATA approved curriculum.
Dr. Stockdale received her Doctor of Health Science degree in 2004 from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Prior to her appointment at Canisius, she was a graduate assistant at Indiana State University. There she was actively involved in the athletic training curriculum program, where she served as a teaching assistant and a clinical supervisor to both undergraduates and graduate students, while finishing her M.S. in Physical Education. Her B.A. is from Hope College.
She is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and has served since 1996 as an approved examiner for the NATA. She is licensed as an Athletic Trainer in both Indiana and Ohio and is also an American Red Cross Instructor for Professional Rescuer CPR, Automated External Defibrillation, and Prevention of Disease Transmission.
She and her husband Dennis live in Auburn, Ind., with their three boys Cameron, Connor and Carson. As a family they enjoy camping and sporting events.

Carrie Wagner

| Carrie Wagner is entering his second year as a Graduate Assistant for the Defiance College Athletic Training Program after graduating with a degree in Athletic Training from Clarion University in March.
While working towards her undergraduate degree, Wagner spent time as an athletic training student. Wagner’s duties included coverage and treatment of 10 teams including football and men’s and women’s basketball.
Wagner has also volunteered as a trainer for the Campus Fest at Clarion University and the Special Olympics at the Pennsylvania State Games.
