Jackets claim 6-4 win over Alice Lloyd

Pippa Passes, KY -- Defiance College bounced back from an opening-season loss with a strong hitting performance and a 6-4 victory over Alice Lloyd College on Saturday.

The Jackets pounded out nine hits, including four extra base hits. James Yenser had a single and a double, and Lenny Koesters hit for two singles and a double. Eric Schwab and Jeremy Vance each added a double as well.

Russ Lupica pitched nine strong innings, yielding ten hits and walking only two. Lupica struck out three batters.

With the victory, Defiance improves to 1-1 on the season and returns to action on Monday at noon against St. Joseph's College.
