Jackets downed by ‘Berg

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Defiance College Yellow Jacket Baseball squad fell to Heidelberg College on Wednesday afternoon, 13-26, at Craig A. Rutter Field.

The offensive onslaught by the Student Princes was a product of 28 hits and eight DC errors on a windy day. Jeremy Hawkins led the Jackets offensively with a 3-for-4 performance with two runs and an RBI. James Yenser went 2-for-6 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI, while Eric Tipton went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run.

Mike Hill got the loss for the Jackets, falling to 0-2 on the season.

Defiance will travel to HCAC-leading and #11-nationally ranked Manchester College for a Friday double-header before hosting the Spartans on Saturday at noon.
