Jackets clipped by Ravens in season finale

ANDERSON, Ind.— Despite rallying from a two-run deficit in the ninth inning, the Defiance College Baseball team fell at Anderson on Saturday morning, 6-7, ending their 2005 season.

Russ Lupica went 8 1/3 innings and struck out two batters while allowing three earned runs on 12 hits. The Jackets scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to go ahead 6-4, before the Ravens took the game with three runs on five singles of their own in the final frame.

Richard Trick went 2-for-4 with one RBI, a run, and a walk in his final collegiate game, while Jeremy Hawkins was 2-for-5 with two singles in the loss.

The Jackets finish the season with a 10-23 record and a 7-12 mark in the HCAC.
