April 30 -- Jackets fall to Pioneers in game one

--Defiance, Ohio -- DC Baseball suffered an 8-2 loss at the hands of the visiting Pioneers of Transylvania University Friday afternoon at Rutter Field.

The Pioneers built a 3-1 lead going into the sixth, and then exploded for four runs to put the game out of reach. Ryan Leininger went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead DC while Jeremy Hawkins and Eric Schwab drove in a run each.

Russ Lupica got the loss, going 5.0 innings and allowing four earned runs on eight hits. Transy was led by Robbie Roberts and Zach Fields who went a combined 6-for-8 in the contest.

Defiance will face-off against the Pioneers in a morning twin-bill, starting at 10:00 a.m. The Jackets will try to improve on their 11-20 (8-8 HCAC) record.
