DC scored a run in the fourth on an error that crossed Tipton again. The Spartans then put the game out of reach with a three-run bottom of the fourth and a nine-run fifth inning, including Minix's four-run blast.
The Jackets did not hang their heads and got four runs in the eighth thanks to Smolenski and Newcomb's bats and one more run on Mike Mirabelli single that scored James Yenser.
