Findlay and Heidelberg Take Home Titles in DC Invite

DEFIANCE, Ohio – In the women’s race Goshen College’s Laura Harnish took home the top individual honor winning the 5K race in a time of 18:58. The University of Findlay accounted for the next six places, scoring a near perfect 20 points on its way to the team title. On the men’s side Heidelberg College edged out Tri-State University for the team championship, while Findlay’s Kendall Simon pulled away from the pack to win the 8K race in 28:26.

DC finished fifth in both the men’s and women’s races. Kaitlyn Switzer led the women finishing 12th with a time of 21:08, earn All-DC Invite honors. Amanda Zimmerman and Courtney Lantz were the next two Lady Jackets to finish, ending up 19th (22:53) and 20th (22:57) respectively.

The men were led by Tyler Reese who finished 28th with a time of 31:28. Nick Alvarez (32:07) and Seth Bidlack (33:04) followed closely behind finishing 30th and 33rd.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Cedarville, Ohio next Saturday, September 15 for the Cedarville University Invitational.
