DC Cross Country in Manchester Invite

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. The Defiance College Cross Country team had a good showing at the Manchester Invite as the women ran a good race for the Yellow Jackets.
The women’s team had a very good showing as Jamie Hamilton led the Jacket women runners with a time of 21:17, good for 27th place. The next Jacket runner was Kelly Neff, who ran one of her best races of the season, came in next with a time of 23:23, good for 67th place. Sarah Stopke and Paula Stambaugh came in 3rd and 4th for Defiance with times of 23:43 and 23:44, respectively. Amanda Zimmerman finished with a time of 24:22, good for 77th place. Kathryn Fedele finished up the impressive run for the Yellow Jackets with a time of 26:01,as the team finished in seventh place overall.
In the men's race, Travis Treece led the men to an eighth place team finish with a
time of 28:50. Nic Alvarez came in not to far behind, running 29:11 for a 60th place finish. Ryan Nusbaum and Adam Fullenkamp finished third and fourth for Defiance with times of 32:06 and 32:18, respectively. William Wilson finished up the race with a time of 42:02. All five of the men’s runner ended the race with season best finishes.
The Defiance College will run for the conference championships as DC takes part in the HCAC Championships on October 28.
