DC Competes at Manchester Invitational

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the Manchester Invitational on Saturday, October 13. The men finished 6th out of 9 teams, while the women finished 7th out of 9.

Both the men's and women's teams turned in season best times on the flat course at Manchester College. Tyler Reese led the men with a 33rd place finish (28:20) just ahead of teammate Nic Alvarez in 34th (28:21). Issac Wilkins (29:05) and Adam Fullenkamp (29:28) also broke the 30 minute barrier for the Jackets.

Courtney Lantz led the women with a personal record time of 20:40, while fellow frosh Kaitlyn Switzer finished just seconds behind with a season best time of 20:50. Kelly Neff was the next Lady Jacket to finish, crossing the line in 21:48.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, October 27 when they travel to Hanover, Ind. to take part in the HCAC Championships.
