DC Cross Country at NCAA Regionals

HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College Cross Country team sent seven athletes to the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Meet in search of an NCAA championship berth. Atlhough the Yellow Jackets were unable to qualify, DC still ran a quality race.

DC was represented by three student-athletes from the men’s side and four from women’s team. For the women, Jamie Hamilton led all DC runners with a time of 26:19.9, finishing in 150th place. Sarah Stopke was the next Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line, ending the race in 207th place with a time of 29:26.1.

Kelly Neff came in next in 209th place with a time of 29:41.5, Amanda Zimmerman rounded out the DC runners with a 211th place finish and a time of 30:02.8.

On the men’s side, Nic Alvarez was the top DC runner, as his time of 29:44.4 was good enough for 184th place. Travis Treece finished 200th with a time of 30:25.2.

Ryan Nusbaum was the final DC finisher, coming in 225th after running a time of 33:59.5.
