GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. The Defiance College men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, November 10.
Three Jackets broke the 30-minute barrier in the race, helping the team to its fastest average time of the season (29:49). Tyler Reese and Nic Alvarez finished right beside each other, completing the course in 29:10 and 29:14. Seth Bidlack was the next Defiance runner in, crossing the line under a minute later in 29:59. Troy Secrest and Andrew Baker rounded out the top five for DC, finishing in 30:14 and 30:30.
The women were paced by frosh Courtney Lantz and Kaitlyn Switzer, completing the 6k course in 25:07 and 25:13. Kelly Neff and Amanda Zimmerman were the next to finish for the Jackets with times of 26:30 and 27:12 respectively. Kathy Fedele closed out the scoring for DC finishing in 30:36.
The race concludes the 2007 cross country season for the Jackets.
