D3Football.com names Kris Zajac to National Team of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio—Defiance College linebacker Kris Zajac (Grosse Ile, Mich- Grosse Ile) has been named to D3Football.com’s National Team of the Week for his performance in the Jackets’ 38-23 win over Franklin College on Saturday.

Zajac, who this season moved from strong safety to weakside linebacker, recorded 13 tackles on the afternoon and had two sacks for a loss of 12 yards. Zajac also forced a fumble; one of Franklin’s three turnovers on the day. For the season, the senior has registered 67 tackles, 13.5 tackles-for-a-loss, nine sacks and an interception. He ranks first in the HCAC in sacks and second in tackles-for-a-loss.

Defiance moved to 5-3 overall and to 3-1in the HCAC with the victory and will host Manchester College this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
