Zajac and Stambaugh named HCAC Players of the Week

--DEFIANCE, Ohio—The DC Yellow Jackets have had Kris Zajac and Blake Stambaugh named HCAC Players of the Week.

Defiance College’s Kris Zajac (Grosse Ile, Mich./Gross Ile) led the Yellow Jackets to a 38-23 win over visiting Franklin College on Oct. 29. The senior linebacker amassed 13 tackles on the afternoon and had two sacks for a loss of 12 yards. Zajac also forced a fumble; one of Franklin’s three turnovers on the day. For the season, Zajac has registered 67 tackles, 13.5 tackles-for-a-loss, nine sacks and an interception. He ranks first in the HCAC in sacks and second in tackles-for-a-loss. Defiance moved to 5-3 overall and to 3-1in the HCAC with the victory.
Football: Special Teams – Blake Stambaugh, Defiance College

Defiance College’s Blake Stambaugh (Swanton, Ohio/Swanton) was a key factor in the Yellow Jackets’ 38-23 win over visiting Franklin College on Oct. 29. The senior punter averaged 38.8 yards on six punts in the contest. Stambaugh had a long punt of 47 yards and placed two punts inside the Grizzlies’ 20-yard line. He is leading the HCAC with a 39.3 average this season. Defiance is alone in second place in the HCAC with a 3-1 conference mark. The Yellow Jackets are 5-3 overall.

The Yellow Jackets Football Team (5-3, 3-1 HCAC) will host Manchester College on Senior Day next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Coressel Stadium. .
