DC Hires Brumett as New Men's Basketball Coach

DEFIANCE, Ohio Defiance College announced on Tuesday that it had hired Kyle Brumett as its new head coach for the men’s basketball program. Brumett is set to begin his post with the Yellow Jackets on May 19.
“I am absolutely elated that Coach Brumett has accepted the Yellow Jacket position,” Athletic Director Dick Kaiser stated. “I believe his personality and his basic coaching philosophies are a great match for the players that are currently in the DC program.”

Miller Resigns as Men's Basketball Coach

DEFIANCE, Ohio Defiance College and Jon Miller announced on Friday evening that he has stepped down as the men’s basketball head coach in order to accept the same position at Hanover College.
Miller will end his five-year tenure with Defiance as the fourth-winningest coach in program history, with 67 victories to his credit. This past season was Miller’s finest, as he led the Yellow Jackets to a 19-8 record and the team’s first outright conference championship since 1993-94 ... (read more)

Pettaway Tabbed as NABC All-American

DEFIANCE, Ohio The National Association of Basketball Coaches recently named Defiance College’s Anthony Pettaway to the 2008 State Farm Division III All-America team. Pettaway was selected by member coaches of the NABC after being named First-Team All-Midwest District one week ago.
Pettaway has raked in the postseason honors after averaging 15.7 points and 8.0 rebounds a night, while leading Defiance to a 19-8 record and the HCAC regular season championship. Pettaway’s Third-Team All-American honor comes after ... (read more)

DEFIANCE, Ohio The National Association of Basketball Coaches has honored Defiance College’s Anthony Pettaway and Jon Miller. The NABC named Pettaway as a NCAA Division III Midwest All-District First Team selection and named Miller as the Midwest District Coach of the Year.

DEFIANCE, Ohio Defiance College’s Anthony Pettaway has been selected to the All-Midwest Region Team as announced by www.D3hoops.com on Wednesday. Pettaway was named Third-Team All-Region and was the lone player from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference to make the list.
