Croy named HCAC Player of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio-- Defiance College’s Curt Croy has been named Heartland Conference ‘Player of the Week’ for his performances in two contests last week.

Croy (Ottawa, Ohio/Ottawa-Glandorf) averaged 30 points per game last week. The junior guard scored a career-high 31 points in a 71-78 overtime loss to Manchester on Feb. 2. He connected on 9-of-22 shots in the game and hit eight three-pointers, one shy of the HCAC single-game record. Croy also collected six rebounds, an assist and steal in the contest.

On Feb. 5, Croy scored a game-high 29 points and was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. In the 71-58 loss to Mt. St. Joseph, he also had two rebounds, an assist and steal. Croy is averaging 17 points and 3.9 rebounds per game this season for the Yellow Jackets. He leads the conference in three-pointers made this year (59). Defiance is 8-13 overall and 1-9 in the HCAC.
