Men's Golf Hosts Defiance College Sub-Varsity Tournament

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The fall season came to a close for DC’s men’s golf program on Tuesday as it hosted the single-round, Defiance College Sub-Varsity Tournament. The event consisted of 29 competitors from DC, Franklin, Tiffin, Tri-State and Wittenberg and was an individual competition.

Tiffin’s Bud Dunn took home the championship with a low score of 73 while Franklin’s Matt Payne and Wittenberg’s Steve Nevius finished one stroke back in a tie for second place. Steve Sorgini of Tiffin and Steve Krehbiel of Wittenberg each posted a 76 to tie for fourth and round out the top five finishers.

Craig Holman turned in the best round for the Yellow Jackets, shooting an 85 to tie for 19th place. Ryan Gladieux took 24th with a 92, Adam Warnement ended 27th with a 94 and Cody Holmes shot a 110 to end in 29th.

The event brings the 2006 fall season to a close for Defiance. The Jackets will have a full schedule in the spring.
