HCAC Championships Round One Results
SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s golf team shot a 329 on the opening day of the 2008 HCAC Championship and is in a tie for fifth in the team standings heading into Saturday’s second round of action.
Jace Neal led the way for the Jackets with a 79 and was followed closely by Cody Anderson’s 80 through 18 holes. Neal will enter round two in a tie for tenth, with Anderson right behind in a tie for 12th.
Transylvania jumped out to a 14-stroke lead in the team standings with a 297, while Franklin and Anderson are locked in a close battle for second at 311 and 312. Manchester sits fourth at 325, with DC and Rose-Hulman next at 329.
Round two of the HCAC event will begin on Saturday at 8:00 am.
