DC Slips in Standings at Day Two of HCAC Championships

HCAC Championships Round Two Results

SEYMOUR, Ind. – Defiance College continued its play in the HCAC Championships on Saturday, shooting a 332 as a team and slipping to seventh in the team standings. The Jackets have a two-day total of 661 and are just seven shots out of the top five.

Jace Neal continued his strong play at the league event, firing a round of 80 on Saturday to finish the opening weekend in a tie for 12th place in the individual standings. Cody Anderson joined Neal in the top 20 on the leader board with an 82 on Saturday. Craig Holman will enter the final two rounds of play next weekend in 31st and will be followed by Josh Calame in 34th and Aaron Konold in 35th.

Transylvania extended its lead to 27 strokes over Anderson in the team standings, while Franklin, Manchester and Rose-Hulman round out the top five.

Matthew Martin and Bradley Sutherland of TU lead the individual standings, while Anderson’s Tyler Daniels joins Sutherland in a tied for second.

Konold shaved nine strokes off his score in the second round.

The HCAC Championship event will continue with the third and fourth rounds of play on May 2 and 3 at Fort Wayne, Ind.
