DEFIANCE, Ohio – Today during Senior Day at the Defiance College Men’s Soccer game, Alex Toll and Jared Gray were recognized for their service to the DC Soccer program. The duo made one more contribution for Defiance in the Yellow Jackets 5-1 win over Anderson University.

Gray scored in the 84th minute on his only shot on goal during the game, while Toll assisted on a Karl Eustache goal in the 56th minute. Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was Eustache and Daniel Meehan, both with two goals a piece. For the Ravens, Paul Hill scored the lone goal in the 60th minute off of a missed save from Brandon Morgan.

Despite the windy and wet weather conditions throughout the entire game, both teams were still able to control the ball enough to make on-target shots. Defiance ended up with 18 shots whereas Anderson ended up with 16.

In the muddy goalie box for Defiance was Morgan with eight saves. As for the Ravens, Kurt Smalley ended up with three saves.

Defiance’s (6-11-1, 4-3-1 HCAC) postseason hopes now lie in the hands of Transylvania University. Manchester College, who is currently tied with DC for the final tournament seed, plays Transy this afternoon. A win by Transylvania will ensure the Yellow Jackets the tournament seed.
