Jackets Handle Beavers

--Defiance, Ohio—The Defiance College men’s soccer team defeated Bluffton, 3-0, in a home soccer match on Tuesday afternoon.

The Jackets got off to an early lead with a goal by Brandon Able, on an assist from Kevin Tanceusz in the 28th minute. They took that 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half Aaron Riley scored on a pass from Karl Eustache in the 62nd minute, and Eustache scored soon after on an assist from Ben Jennings.

Jeff Meyer pitched the shutout for the Yellow Jackets, recording two saves in a game that saw Defiance dominate the time of possession.

DC took 27 shots, to five for Bluffton, and had seven corner kicks to three for the Beavers. Bluffton committed 17 fouls to 13 for Defiance.

The win moves the Yellow Jackets to 8-6-2, and 4-1-0 in the HCAC. The Yellow Jackets next play at home against Transylvania on Saturday.
