Defiance Comes Up Short in OT
--Defiance, Ohio--The Defiance College Men’s Soccer team suffered a heart-breaking overtime defeat to visiting Elmhurst College, 1-0, on Friday evening.
The game was a physical, hard fought battle that had a total of 38 fouls, and seven yellow cards. Defiance was guilty of 22 of those fouls, and three of the seven yellow cards. In a defensive struggle, the Yellow Jackets managed 13 shots, compared to eight for Elmhurst, but Elmhurst had 10 corner kicks to four for the Jackets. Jeff Meyer did have six saves in net for Defiance.
The loss drops the Yellow Jackets record to 3-3-2. They next play at Otterbein on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
