Yellow Jackets Sting the Grizzles

--Franklin, Ind.--The Defiance College men’s soccer team had a big 3-0 road victory over Franklin College on Saturday afternoon.

Chris Berg scored the first goal in the second minute of the game to put the Yellow Jackets up early. He knocked it in the net on an assist from Josh Gaines. The second goal was scored on a one-timer from Berg to Aaron Riley. The last score was a Ron Litteral goal from a Brandon Able assist. The Jackets scored all three goals in the first half, and held on for the victory. Jeff Meyer pitched the shutout while racking up 5 saves.

Defiance had 21 shots compared to just six for Franklin. Franklin committed 20 fouls, while the Yellow Jackets had 11. The Grizzlies were charged with 4 yellow cards, and one red, with Defiance receiving two yellows.

The win moves the Jacket’s record to 4-5-2, with 1-0-0 record in the HCAC. They next play home against grace on Saturday, October 9 at 1:00 pm.
