Men's Soccer Falls to 3-3 in HCAC with Loss at Hanover

HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s soccer team came up short in its bid to move to 4-2 in conference play when it suffered a 2-0 loss at Hanover on Saturday afternoon.

The Jackets battled Hanover to a scoreless tie at the break, but the Panthers got unassisted goals from Jeremy Owens and Seamus O’Rourke in the 49th and 86th minutes to pull out the 2-0 win.

Brandon Morgan was solid in the net for DC, playing all 90 minutes and grabbing four saves.

Defiance ripped off 13 shots to Hanover’s 15, but HC’s keeper, Michael Hansford, stopped all six that were on frame to preserve the shutout.

Defiance falls to 5-11 overall and 3-3 in the HCAC with the loss while Hanover moves to 8-5-3 and 5-0-1 in HCAC play.

DC will play at Manchester on Wednesday before closing out its regular season with a home match on Saturday at 3:00 pm against Anderson.
