Four Jackets named All-HCAC
DEFIANCE, OhioFour DC Yellow Jackets have been named to the All-Heartland Conference men’s soccer team for their performances in the 2005 season.
Sophomore Karl Eustache (Millersburg, Ohio- West Holmes) and seniors Joel Wilkins and Jeff Meyer, both from Amelia, Ohio (Amelia), were named to the All-HCAC first-team, while sophomore Ryan Rothermel (Fairborn, Ohio- Fairborn) earned a spot on the second team.
Eustache, last year’s HCAC Freshman of the Year, built on his strong freshman campaign by scoring six goals to lead the Jackets, and adding an assist as a forward. Wilkins earned his third-straight spot on the All-HCAC team by registering three goals and an assist from his defender position. Goalkeeper, Jeff Meyer started all 17 games for the Jackets, stopping 109 shots with a 81% saves percentage.
Rothermel had a goal and two assists as a defender in 2005, earning his first spot on the All-HCAC team.
The Jackets finished the year with a 6-11 record overall and a 4-3 mark in the HCAC.
