Defiance Soccer loses dogfight to Heidelberg

--Defiance, Ohio—The Defiance College Men’s Soccer men lost a tough and physical game against Heidelberg College 3-1 Wednesday afternoon.


The game saw 16 fouls between the two teams, not to mention yellow cards on two Student Princes and three Yellow Jackets.

The Student Princes took an early 2-0 lead and held on to it until the Jackets pulled within one off of a goal scored by Joel Wilkins off of a penalty kick. The Jackets almost tied it on a header by Karl Eustache in the second half, but the shot was blocked by a defender. The ‘Berg put the game away on goal scored off of a rebound on a Jeff Meyer deflected save.

Jeff Meyer saved six shots on goal, while Karl Eustache had three shots on goal.

The Men’s Soccer team takes on Baldwin Wallace at home Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
