KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Defiance College men’s soccer team fell to 0-3 on the season after a 4-1 loss to Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo scored early to grab the lead just six minutes into the contest. The Hornets would not stop there, scoring two more times before Defiance could stop the bleeding. Benji Hughes finally put DC on the board in the 66th minute, taking a pass from Michael Bell and booting it past Kalamazoo keeper Ben Schroeder and narrowing the margin to 3-1. The Hornets would add an insurance goal late in the game to pull out the victory.
The Jackets mustered just three shots on goal, two from Hughes, and were outshot 19-5 over the course of the game.
Defiance will return to action at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, when it hosts the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern.
