Yellow Jackets Steal Road Win

--Defiance, Ohio—The Defiance College men’s soccer team had a big 3-2 road victory in overtime, at Manchester on Tuesday evening.

The Yellow Jackets got down early, in a first half that saw Manchester jump out 2-0. That score stood through the first half. Defiance put more pressure on the Spartans in the second half and were able to get their first goal on a penalty kick by Joel Wilkins in the 57th minute. The Jackets struck again in the 69th minute on a throw in from Kevin Tanceusz that Karl Eustache headed in to tie it up.

The game went to overtime, where in the 97th minute, Branden Able took a shot that was deflected by the Manchester goalie, and was finished off by Ron Litteral to seal the victory for Defiance.

The Jackets out-shot Manchester 19-11 in the game. The Spartans committed 16 fouls to 12 for Defiance. Jeff Meyer was in goal in the first half, and had two saves, while Joe DiSalvio came in and played the second half and had three saves of his own. There were eight yellow cards given out in a physical, hard fought contest.

The win moves the Yellow Jackets record to 6-5-2. They next play Saturday at Hanover College.
