Jacket Soccer shutout by Spartans

DEFIANCE, Ohio—Despite out shooting Manchester 17-8, the Defiance College men’s soccer team fell to the Spartans, 1-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Winsper-Knobel Field.

Jared Gray and Benji Hughes each had two shots on goal, while Jeff Meyer registered six saves in goal for DC. MC’s Tim Noffsinger scored the game’s lone goal in 15th minute.

Defiance had 14 fouls to Manchester’s 11 and had three corner kicks to the Spartan’s two.

The Jackets are now 3-8 on the season and 1-1 in the HCAC. They will next travel to Transylvania on Saturday for noon start.
