Men’s Soccer picks up first conference win of the season

DEFIANCE, Ohio With the struggle to score goals emerging as a recurring theme throughout the season, the Defiance College Men’s Soccer team scored a season-high four goals in a 4-1 win over Mount St. Joseph.
Alex Toll got things started when he was able to score on a pass back from Collin Selahowski after a Jared Gray corner kick in the 12th minute. Six minutes later, MSJ’s Chris Dobrowolski would put in the equalizer. The game remained tied until the 35th minute, when Karl Eustache put what proved to be the game-winning goal off of a missed save opportunity by the goalie. Benji Hughes added another insurance goal in the 48th minute, while Eustache knocked in the final goal of the game in the 62nd minute to put the game on ice.
The Yellow Jacket offense was in the groove today, as DC put up a season-high 28 shots. Brandon Morgan saved four shots for DC in the win.
Defiance (2-8-1- 1-1-0 HCAC) will host Bluffton University Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
