DC Men's Soccer Drops HCAC Opener at Rose-Hulman

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. Defiance headed to Rose-Hulman on Saturday for the first-ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup between the two programs and came away with a tough 2-0 loss to the Engineers.
The two teams battled through a scoreless first half before R-H found the net for a pair of quick goals in the 53rd minute.
That was all the scoring there would be in the game as Defiance lost for the fourth-straight game to fall to 1-5 on the season and 0-1 in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman (4-1-1, 1-0 HCAC) posted a 16-4 edge in shots and attempted eight more corner kicks than DC (12-4) in the victory.
Karl Eustache and Michael Bell each had a pair of shots to lead the DC attack and Brandon Morgan notched four saves in the net.
Defiance will take the week off before finishing off its season-long, six-game road trip with games at Baldwin-Wallace (9/23) and Heidelberg (9/26).
