Jackets Blank Siena Heights

--Tiffin, Ohio--The Defiance College men’s soccer team got a big victory over Siena Hieghts at the Heidelberg Tournament on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets shut out the Saints 2-0. Branden Able scored the first goal for Defiance in the 15th minute on an assist from Joel Wilkins. The second goal was a header into the upper near post by Ben Jennings, on an assist from Able in the 28th minute. Joe DiSalvio was solid in goal with 3 saves to hold Siena Heights scoreless.

The Jackets were able to hold on in a tough defensive struggle. The Jackets managed six shots on goal, while Siena had five. The Saints had 10 fouls to Defiance’s nine, with each team receiving three yellow cards.

The win elevates the Yellow Jackets record to 2-2-2. They play Taylor University at home on Tuesday at 3:00.
