Pioneers end DC Men’s Season

--Lexington, Ky.-- The Defiance College men’s soccer team fell in the first round of the HCAC Tournament, 0-2, to Transylvania University on Wednesday afternoon at Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

Jeff Meyer, five saves, and Joe DiSalvio, one save, each saw action in goal for the Jackets, while the Pioneers earned the win on the strength of goals by Albert Gross in the 25th minute, and Brad McLean in the 43rd minute.

DC managed four shots on goal, two by Ben Jennings, while the Pioneers got off 16 shots on the evening. The Jackets had seven corner kicks compared to TU’s six and committed nine fouls to TU’s two.

Marc Frank shutout the Jackets, playing all 90-minutes in goal for TU.

Defiance ends its season with a 8-7-3 record overall and a 4-1-1 record in the HCAC regular season.
