Jacket Tennis earns first win of season

ADRIAN, Mich.—The Defiance College Men’s Tennis team earned their first win of the spring season with a 6-3 victory at Adrian College on Tuesday night.

Stefan Faerber won his second straight #1 singles match with a 6-1, 6-2 downing of Dan Krsteski. Nathan Butler joined Faerber at #1 singles, winning their second-straight, 8-5 over Krsteski and Steve Kerwin, while Butler defeated Kerwin, 6-2, 6-2 at #2 singles. Jared Sponseller improves to 3-2 on the year with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Cody Rudolph at #3 singles.

Wes Auld won at #6 singles, 6-1, 6-2 over Blake Childs, while also joining Jeff Meyer at #3 doubles, 9-7 over Childs and Ryan Schmidli.

The Yellow Jackets are now 1-4 on the spring season and will next travel to Hilton Head, South Carolina for five games, starting on Sunday versus Webster University at noon.
