Two Yellow Jackets earn All-HCAC honors in Men's Tennis, Kurtz named Freshman of the Year

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Defiance College’s Tim Kurtz has been named as the 2006 HCAC Freshman of the Year. Kurtz finished the regular season with a 20-24 overall record for the Yellow Jackets and was a major factor in DC's third-place finish at the postseason conference tournament. Kurtz placed fourth at the No. 2 singles flight in the HCAC Tournament and teamed up with Tyler Ault at No. 2 doubles to place third. Against conference opponents, Kurtz went 12-6 in conference play over the year, including 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

Defiance's Stefan Faerber was also named to the 2006 All-HCAC team. Faerber went 7-2 in the No. 1 singles flight, taking second place in the tournament, and partnered with Adam Fausey to finish fourth in the No. 1 doubles flight. For the year, Faerber was 21-22 overall and 13-4 in conference play.

Defiance College finished the season 10-11 overall and 4-2 in the HCAC.
