Kurtz named to the Men’s Tennis All-HCAC Team

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Tim Kurtz of the Defiance College Men’s Tennis team has been named to the All-HCAC team for the second straight season. Kurtz was the sole Defiance representative on the all-conference squad.

Kurtz tied for the team high in wins with 12 on the year, including seven wins against conference foes. From the #1 singles position, Kurtz had three wins for DC against conference opponents Bluffton University, Manchester College, and the College of Mount St. Joseph in singles play. He won his lone No. 1 conference doubles match against Mount St. Joseph.

In addition to being to the All-HCAC team last season, Kurtz was the 2006 HCAC Freshman of the Year. He finished the regular season with a 20-24 overall record for the Yellow Jackets and placed third in No. 2 doubles in last year’s HCAC Tournament.

Defiance finished the regular season with a record of 4-13 overall and a 3-4 mark in the HCAC.
